The 4Gb and higher cards are MicroSDHC format (HC=High Capacity). The HC-type cards use a FAT32 filesystem, whereas the older standard used FAT16.

From what I read on the Sandisk site (link) you must have a HC-compatible reader.

Have you confirmed that your memory card reader is SD-HC compliant? If not, that could very well be your problem.

That's correct. My card readers on my PC won't read the cards. The computer will read it through the BB in mass storage mode, though.

Default found a good deal on eBay for the 8 GB Micro SD - 01-27-2008, 10:57 AM

On eBay, an 8 GB SDHC card can be had for $69.57 after shipping. Not bad at all. Just ordered one.

Glad I did my research. The AT&T store wanted $80 for a 4 GB card. Yikes!

4GB MicroSD Memory Card FOR BlackBerry 8100 8130 4 G GB
$26.98 on ebay, plus $9.xx shipping.

Can't wait to get some songs on the phone and use it as a better media device than what I can now.

So - 4 gig equals 1000 songs? roughly?

Keep in mind OS 4.3 devices can handle the 8gb card limit, but anything without 4.3 may or may not be able to access the full card even after formatting.

shop.kingston.com still has the 4Gb card for $31, free 3-day shipping. Some states have sales tax added on, but that would still come out to around $33 w/o any rebate hassles.

I wish I had gotten one of those. I think it was a one-day sale. Today they have Adata 2 GB for $14.99 and they want $50 for a 4GB. I'll search around more before I spend $50 for a 4GB.
