Default Cant get 4.2.1.66 TIM Zen Theme over to Cingular 4.2.0.73 - 03-20-2007, 12:38 PM

Any pros out there know what are the correct steps into acheiving this? Been trying so many times to edit the BlackBerry.alx file and getting the pertaining .cod file over to the java folder but nothing. I mean the theme shows up but distorted/corrupted. It's like it mixed with another theme, doesnt show up properly.

P.S. I really love this theme and would appreciate anyone who can get it over to the Cingular 4.2.0.73 OS, THANKS!

Well, i actually opened up jibi's file with wordpad and i dont see any reference there to the TIM filestes, meaning he didnt include the entry there and even if he did he would've mentioned any additional information as to include the pertaining .cod file for the theme to work (extracted from 4.2.1.66) and dumped into the 4.2.0.73 java file directory.

Thanks

-Ed.

I'm not sure it's entirely possible -- when doing my initial upgrade (but have since downgraded) the "com_plazmic_themereader" module was one of the things I saw in the "I'm going to delete these modules" list that shows in the wizard. It stuck out in my memory of a "huh, wonder what that's about" moment.

So while I really can't verify this I have a suspicion that the theme from a 4.2.1 OS release might not work on a 4.2.0 device because of internal dependancies on "stuff" that's changed. At least, that's what it smells like...

Open the 4.2.1 ALX file, copy the entries for the TIM theme from there, paste these into the 4.2.0 ALX file, copy the actual COD file from the 4.2.1 Java directory to the 4.2.0 Java directory then try to load. It will likely load, but I'm not sure if it will work.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

I've tried this many times and no go.

P.S. Yeah, 4.2.1 themes are not 100% compatible with 4.2.0 OS's, sux. Thanks anyways guys.
