Default Putting personal pictures as a wallpaper

Please Login to Remove!

I have uploaded the pictures that I want to be my wallpaper (and resized them, etc). When I view them on the browser, I can't 'select' them to save them. I have tried emailing the picture to myself as an attachment, and that doesn't work, either. I have tried to view the exact image link, but it makes the size smaller. What do I do to get my pictures as a fitting wallpaper?

err well i don't have a data plan so i wouldn't know anything about the browser in bb.

But if you have the updated version of the phone (currently 4.2) and the desktop manager version 4.2. It let's you drag and drop picture, ringtones to your phone. So just resize the image and just drag and drop it into the phone.

Version 4.2 can be found in the BB8700 forum, it's a sticky and it's the first thread.

Yes, you can drag and drop them or use Desktop Manager if you dont have a memory card. I dont know if you tried it this way but can you upload it to imageshack.us and then email yourself the direct link and save it that way? Even if the picture shows up smaller in the browser the actual file should be the same as the one you uploaded when you download it. Hope this helps, I'm no expert though.

I do this all the time and I never have any problems. I don't ever resize either. BB will try to fit them into place and it does a nice job with this provided that your image has the same size ratio as the screen (e.g., on my 8700 the screen is 320x240, so you need an image that's 4x3).

In order to be able to save/select the images from a webpage the trackwheel needs to know that it should stop there - so you need to embed the image within a link. Otherwise you'll need to navigate straight to the image. When you get there click your trackwheel and select the FULL IMAGE option, then save the image. From there it's just a couple clicks to the pictures application and saving it as a desktop background.

There are alot of good image managers too, not free but let you do other stuff like ScreenSavers and Slide Shows.

I use Ascendo Photos which can zoom, resize, reposition wallpaper before I transfer to BB. New version has Brightness & Contrast sliders. Thinking of upgrading. Anybody tried it?
