Question Audio Books on 8300??? Help Please!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new 8300 and I downloaded the new roxio. I can move songs to my BB but have not had any luck trying to move audio books (that download as .wmd files). roxio has a message that says it only detects media files and i have set it to the : detect all media setting , but still wont pull the audio book over. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to convert the audio books to a file roxio will let me move to BB or tell me what i need to do within roxio to be able to transfer them to BB. Thanks in advance.

I would guess that either
a) They're not a format that can be converted by media manager
b) They're DRM protected and therefore can't be converted at all

Either way, media manager is not going to work for you.

You'll need a conversion program

A quick google reckons that a .wmd file is actually a container that you should be able to unzip.

My guessing that in there will be a few small descriptive files and a DRM-protected .wma file. If so, how you'd convert that I've no idea - and depending on where you live it might be illegal to even attempt it.

You may be lucky and the "large file in the zip" may be a file type understood by Roxio. If so, great; if not you might want to try something like mplayer / mencoder to convert it instead of Roxio.
