Default Plazmic theme builder help!! - 07-06-2007, 03:34 PM

I am trying to make a theme. I noticed there is a couple of places where it points you to locations on your comp for custom stuff. Please help me with this. With all the themes I found all the icons were different and i can't seem to figure out where to get different icons from. Just really need some overall help. IM me or respond anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Just trying to learn. Oh and one other thing the main reason for me downloading this was so I could develop a theme that is like the today theme( everything is horizontal letting you know of upcoming appointments etc... and I noticed that there isnt even an option to do that. Is thereanother theme builder i can get that would let me do that. That was the main reason for me trying this in the first place. I wanted andifferent theme but i need that format. Please help

The only 2 themes that can be created is zen and icon until plazmic comes out with an upgrade...and yes plazmic is the only program out there that can make bb themes.

Where do these people get all these icons and other things in all these themes you see out there. Just search the web? Is that it.

There are other threads in here about the plazmic theme builder. Do a search and you should come up with lots of good stuff.

people get icons (like me) from different sources. Do a google search under the term (Free icons) and it will lead you to many pages that offer free icons.

the size i like to use is 48x48 you need to resize them smaller for the 8100, and if you have smaller icons than 48x36, they just become blurry.

So what size would you recommend for icons on the 8100? I did a search but couldn't find the information I was looking for

Basically, I'm attempting to make an Army Ranger theme for my buddy that recently got out (using the Ranger tab, Ranger battalion scroll, and Ranger coat of arms for icons). I'm not that great with Photoshop but with a little basic info (correct icon sizes on the 8100, for starters), I'm sure I can accomplish this

When you open Themebuilder again, go to the HELP tab at the top. Download and print the User Guide..its a great publication...I still use it.

Go to page 35. That page has all you will ever need to know about icon sizes.

If you are designing a Zen based theme, the icon size should be 48x36.

If you want Icons only Theme, the icon size is a little larger at 60x55

Hope that helped!

if you wait a few weeks...Plazmic will be releasing a new version that will have the 8800 available.

BUT..if you cant wait..you can also use 8700 themes on an 8800..granted they may not function 100% of the time....
