Default Ringtone playback issue

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to these forums so forgive me if this is redundant. I just got my blackberry curve (my first blackberry!) and I'm adding some custom ringtones to it. Oddly enough the ringtones will only play for the first 3 to 4 seconds before they skip, pause and start playing the first 3 to 4 seconds over again. This is annoying as how they ringtones i made are all about 20 seconds long.

Does anyone else have this issue or know how to solve it? Thanks.

Set your ring to one ring.

Thanks I've been looking in the profiles and options and I can't seem to find a prompt that asks me the number of rings and allows me to change it. Do you know where I can find that in my 8300?

I'm sorry , should have said. Go to Profiles. Scroll down to advanced and edit. Find Phone and edit.

**edit: make sure you set both IN and OUT of holster

Thank you, I gave that a try and it didn't seem to work. But I eventually found out the problem. Apparently this is a widespread problem when a ringtone of the wrong format (.wav) is tried to be made into a ringtone. The standard for the ringtones is .mp3.

So.. yeah.. thats just out there incase anyone else encounters this same issue.
