Default Help! Bought 8330 from BBF user - EMAILS NOT RESPONDED TO! - 06-11-2008, 11:43 PM

HELP ME!

I just discovered the world of blackberry and found the Want to Buy, Sell, Trade section and found someone selling a new Blackberry 8330 for Verizon.

Contacted him through the email listed and we set everything up (paid on a cc through paypal) and the phone was supposedly shipped on May 30th. I asked for shipping information and have recieved nothing in response. I have sent many, MANY emails since then demanding some sort of information (realizing that I have very little) and have heard nothing back.

I'm not sure what to do next! It's been almost two weeks since it was supposedly shipped (from London) but now I'm pretty certain this was a scam. Has anyone encountered similar problems?? What do I do next? File a dispute/claim with Paypal?

UGH I'm frustrated and unsure how to handle this since everything seemed to go smoothly . . .

a member on here - catchmeifyoucan

i've looked him up (and his email - which is different) through any means i could think of and came up with nothing.

i'm really new at all of this and just really bummed.

do i continue to wait to see if it arrives (since it's supposedly coming from london) or file a claim now and give up?

I would file a claim now, and if it arrives drop the claim, also since it happened here i would pm John Clark and make him aware

Must be this one:

Only 2 posts and he says an 8330 is unlocked which I don't think is possible. I hope you get this straightened out brattyalligator.

Things can definitely take a while coming from Europe. Please send me the details and I will see if I can contact this member.

I think anyone selling or trading here should be a well established BBF member,
this person catchme has only been here a couple of weeks w 2 comments, it sure looks like a scam to me, it reminds me of that guy that was selling serials here w stolen credit cards. BBF Mods can prevent this by establishing selling rules, to protect honest BBF Members from getting ripped off.

This happens pretty rarely here and we have quite a few transactions take place.

I will say that catchmeifyoucan has two other usernames registered under the same IP. Since the only posts from this member are selling BB's I'm assuming they are indeed the same person (if so, it's a violation of BBF's Terms of Service.)
