Also try resending your service books, VZW all ok in NJ...

I have tried the Soft reset program and the alt-shift-del and they did not "fix" anything.

My 8830 is entombed in an otterbox so I only reluctantly actually do a real battery pull but will if necessary.

I just went to BIS site and re-sent service books. I guess I will ask here - how does this work? If I don't connect to their (rim?) site how are service books sent to me? How long before I might see any impact? Still 1xev (lower case)

But thanks for the answers so far.

I would do the battery pull. Usually the service books are pretty instant

Did REAL battery pull - no change.

Phone works for calling.

Okay, where are all of you Seattle/Verizon users? In a local bar sobbing into your beers? Oh, wait, I meant local COFFEE bars sobbing into your COFFEE!!!!

Two hours later - finally. I have UPPERCASE 1XEV and a bunch of "service book" emails came in, as well as my test email and another from a friend. Browser works. I did nothing since the REAL battery pull and about an hour after that it was still down. So I have to guess there was something askew.

I have to admit that I do NOT rely on the BB for work. I don't even use it as a cell phone all that often. But this morning there was a reference to an upgrade of 3rd party software and I went "online" to check it out and could not. That is when I found the problem. And the real problem is not being able to find out if there is a problem!!!!

Thanks, all

Its a Verizon issue (at least it wasin NYC area when I called them). The tech reported multiple reports of subscribers calling with missing browsers, service books, etc..

My browser was down for 3+ hrs before it miraculously reappeared..
