Exclamation Sprint Nationwide outage for BlackBerry smart phones only - July 30. 2008 - 07-30-2008, 10:43 AM

From the Dataoutages.com Mail List.

Sprint has confirmed that there is a Nation Wide outage for BlackBerry smart phones only.

The outage includes issues with Sending/Receiving Email and Internet Access.

There is no ETR and no Problem ticket has been escalated internally through Sprint for the issue.

Sprint stated that users experiencing any issues should take out the battery while the device is still on and leave the battery out for 1 minute, then place the battery back into the device. This may also take more then 1 Reboot of the device to alleviate the issue until it is resolved.

I will follow up with more information later on.

Thanks for the update. The dataoutages list is a life saver!

I have Sprint users and it is nice to be informed before the calls start pouring in.

Will this workaround work to get the send/receive functionality of the devices? If this is a network issue, how will this workaround work?

Thanks!

Funny thing, I was getting some e-mails but not all.
Wiped all service books and re-sent. All e-mail service books came in, but nothing else. Did like 3 battery pulls and 2 resets. Gave up after that.
Finally 2 hours later all the service books came in.
