Default Tmobile EDGE Outage in Socal? - 10-03-2008, 03:11 PM

Ok so I just recently posted that EDGE network is down and it came back a few minutes ago. I have connected to the EDGE network shows up on the phone, but I can't get any data just says unable to connect to the internet after it says requesting on the bottom. Any idea's?

So I'm guessing its a local issue in San Bernardino, the wierd part is I will get email and it will switch to EDGE then after that it goes back to GSM or gprs. Same goes for the wife pearl with no data plan, GSM and edge back and forth.

I called T-Mobile and they were no help, They tried to tell me it was a device problem and to call back tomorrow if it didnt fix but my wife has a sidekick and having the same problem. Tmobile rep were no help also but I figure it a local problem because I went out to Irvine monday and everything was fine, came back home and the problem came back. Still to this day its been doing that, just that it got worst my signal would be completely lost and it would say searching for signal.

Signal Status : GSM

Thats the same thing that mine is doing dropping service/signal. What part of San Berdoo are you at? I went to Sams club on Tippicanoe and the rep didn't even know that her Curve was doing the same thing. It's getting beyond frustrating to say the least. -Joe

This all has to do with the roll out of 3G. There is not to much you can do on your side other than call, complain and get a $5 to $10 credit.

Wirelessly posted

Hey now I'm noticing it here in North Orange county with more frequency you guys. I flip through all of them, sometimes having SOS or even searching for network for some time. I'm really not liking this.

Update: Well as of 7pm EDGE (4 Bars) is back so far so good. Did the Diagnostic test and everything pass hopefully no problem should arise. Well see how it goes throughout the night when I'm at work.
