Default AT&T SOS Southeastern Michigan - 12-28-2008, 11:33 AM

Does anyone else have problems with SOS showing on their AT&T BB? All other phones in the house are working fine and I"ve been on hold with AT&T for the last 45 minutes.

Yes I've pulled the battery also.

yes, I have the exact problem. I put my sim into an older Moto, it can call out but cannnot received any incoming. Other Att cells in the house are now working fine, one had intermittant probs earlier, but is fine now.

Are you getting any answers from ATT?

I think the ATT BIS is down in Michigan (Novi area). I have no connection after a few battery pulls. Hopefully it comes back soon :O)

Under Services Status, my Mobile Network Provider is showing T-Mobile and nothing else is showing up, not even my BES is showing as being active. I'm having issues staying connected to the internet so I can't login to my BES at the office to see if it's having any issues.

I'm using my wife's razor to call AT&T and i'm still sitting on hold

im north of you and had no problems at all but with the 40 mph winds maybe worse in the Detroit area

winds have calmed. I'm in Oxford. They just answered and are trying to tell me it's my IMEI number and it's been reported stolen.

I'm at work and one of my co workers had this problem. I had no blackberry connection on my bold but she just had an sos. Everything is working fine now.

I'm near Cleveland, Ohio. I had a lower-case "3g" for a while, I just cycled the mobile network connection and now have the capital "3G" along with the symbol that indicates a connection to the Blackberry infrastructure... but no messages have come through yet.

AT&T has confirmed that there is a voice and data outage in Michigan and surrounding area's. No ETA at this time.

I have the same issue - I am in Oxford too - seems the high winds we had may have taken out a tower. I switched the sim from my wifes phone but it still did not work, trouble is, hers is still working. I dont have the BB service either.

I ve been on hold for 30 mins.

done the batt pull several times too. very annoying!

Just came back - I have the GSM in caps. Keeps trying to grab a signal. I assume they are working onit so I hung on on the service line.

FYI Off hours calling number is 1866 801 3600 for ATT.

(Now it just went to SOS again!)

I know the towers still standing since I just drove right by the thing. I didn't see any trucks around it or work crews so I don't understand what the problem is. It's not a tower issue that I can tell at least.

I know when it comes up for me, I'll know right away with a couple hundred emails from people wanting to know what's going on and why they aren't getting their emails. Guess I should put it on the charger so it's fully charged when that happens.

Angry Possible deal loss - 12-28-2008, 02:53 PM

Everyones concerns about downed services appears to be a minor issue.
I understand that with technology, network problems are the inevitable at some point.

I seem to be the only user on an international conference call that's been
interupted causing the loss of a client stock purchase in access of $300K as
markets open Monday morning.

How about a reimbursement?

AT&T Corporate Care. They said the main switch facility for the midwest market is down, thus the outages.

Still no ETA on when it will be up. the guy that I spoke with on the phone said that around 4:11am EST, a bunch of towers went down and the ETA at the time was 6hr's to repair, obviously they are still down and still no ETA on when they will be back up again.

My curve has been stuck on SOS service since around 10:00 a.m. Michigan time...I called At&T about half hour ago...they said towers are down in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, N & S Dakota. "SHOULD" be back up tonight or maybe tomorrow they said. Make sure you call and get a credit on your bill.

I joined this site simply because of this thread.

I don't have a blackberry. Unfortunately I have the extreme displeasure of owning a trendy iPhone. Mine has been out as well. I don't think it's just blackberry. I've contacted AT&T and they said that they are having problems in Michigan. Which, in my opinion, is complete bullshit. I seriously need my phone. We all pay these hefty bills for what? I hope they get this resolved as soon as possible in a TIMELY manner.

I'm actually enjoying the downtime on my part right now. On the other hand my Exec's are going nuts because they can't make calls or get them. They can at least login to the VPN and use their Outlook or use Webmail so that's keeping them happy for the most part since I sent them the last update.
