Default BIS issues in Europe - 03-08-2009, 12:14 AM

I'm currently experiencing some issues regarding the mail delivery to my BB. It's delayed by several hours most of the times, sometimes only by minutes, despite the BB is connected to the carriers home network and is showing 5/5 "bars".

Did anyone else experience something like that as well within the past 48 hours in Europe?

**moved to the network Data Outages section**

I don't recall exactly, but this could be the weekend of the BIS 2.6 upgrade in Europe, Africa and Middle East. It was either this w/end or next, and it usually occurs early in the morning of Sunday.

Wirelessly posted (always online)

Ok

It's pretty weird - I've just sent an e-mail to myself and 3 other e-mails showed up as well, all marked 7;17 o'clock.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000 Bold)

Any more news on this? How do we know whether or not BIS 2.6 was deployed in Europe during this weekend?

not about BIS but my e-mail traffic is working without any issues again, so either the update is complete or the issues fixed.

Actually I think it is next weekend that the implementation occurs.

Can you be more specific next time? Instead of just "email issues," can you tell if it were "Google email" or "Yahoo email" or any other email address in particular or if each and any email was delayed?

The trouble started yesterday evening (7th) and it started working like normal again around 10am on the 8th.

Every e-mail was delayed, some by minutes and some by hours. Sometimes 3 mails popped up at a time, exactly when the third one arrived (according to Outlook, on my notebook). It seems that (in this case) the third one pushed the other 2 onto the BB as well.

It happened on my MSN inbox only, haven't received any mails on the BB inbox - either because there are none or they're heavily delayed. But to be honest...it's Sunday, I don't think that someone sent something to this mail address. It could possibly be related to MSN / Hotmail but why did the mails show up immediately in Outlook then?

I think the upgrade to BIS 2.6 has just taken place here in Europe. I deleted and then added my Google Apps email account and it has been set-up automatically as IMAP instead of POP. It is no longer necessary to set up filters to avoid sent messages being forwarded to the BB device. Also, when I read an email on the BB it appears read on the web interface. The only additional setting I had to make in my BIS account was to copy the sent messages to myself, otherwise they did not show up in my Sent messages on the web. Anyway, it's a good start, let's hope someday we will have two way sync.
