My BB Messenger never stopped working, lol
I think, reading between the lines, this was not a total network outage. But all BES servers in region were disconnected under their SRP status, RIM confirmed that much to me. Sporadic reports of issues with BIS also.

Impact: BlackBerry subscribers may experience delays in receiving messages and may receive an “x” when sending messages. Subscribers may also be unable to register their device, roam in another location, or use other services such as Internet browsing.
BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers may be unable to use the BlackBerry Internet Service web site or perform activities such as creating new accounts, accessing their Internet mailbox, integrating third-party email accounts, or viewing email attachments.
Devices may not receive new service books. BlackBerry Connect and BlackBerry-enabled devices that require a new PIN may be unable to receive the PIN.
BlackBerry Enterprise Servers may be unable to connect to the BlackBerry Infrastructure.
Wireless service providers and device resellers may experience delays in using BlackBerry administration web sites or performing activities such as creating subscriber accounts or provisioning services for subscribers. [0807]

Just received this from o2
===========================
O2 regrets to inform you that a fault affecting our BlackBerry service was identified earlier this afternoon. This resulted in a loss of service to some of our customers. The fault is within RIM's network. RIM & O2 engineers have been engaged and we have now been informed that service is restored.

I had no problems at all today.
I did however get a wonderful message from T-mobile UK stating:
"Over the next couple of days we're improving your local network to give you an even better experience. we apologise for any loss of service during this time."
Maybe after this i'll actually get 3G in most of my house and not just in the inconveient places to stand in my house

Don't complain  Who doesn't love the t-mobile hang-out-of-window-for-3G game?
I'm OK in London, but whenever I visit my Gran in le countryside, I might as well just leave the Bold at home.

I had a problem with the bold never staying connected to 3G and once lost would never come back. usually lost when trying to web browse on 3G, even when having 5 bars.
Trying it for longer, I realised that it will come back, only at certain places in the house and no matter where I am, will usually drop to GPRS when trying to web browse.
Sigh oh well.
I am interested to hear anything else about the local network improving....are they increasing 3G capabilities or just upgrading their old towers?
