Default AT&T Outages in North East - 07-01-2009, 02:31 AM

Anyone know of any enterprise issues in the North East. I am in Virginia and haven't had blackberry email, internet or messaging for hours. I can make calls, but that's it.

Data network was down for me yesterday from about 9pm into the wee hours of the morning. It stayed on 3g, instead of 3G.

Default AT&T Issues - 07-20-2009, 01:15 AM

Ok all, this has been a huge ordeal with me over the last 3 weeks so I will keep it brief...After 11 1/2 hours on the phone with at&t customer service, 3 new phones, and 4 new sim cards, I finally found a rep who was honest enough to tell me the problem. AT&T had leased a bunch of towers from Vermont through Virginia and starting somewhere around June 16th, they began having major issues with them when trying to convert them over to AT&T. Which, ironically is around the time I started having issues with my BlackBerry Curve. They replaced it with 2 more curves, same trouble, and in order to retain my business, they offered to give me whatever phone I wanted, so I took the Bold 9000. After 2 days, I had the same problem. My phone would drop calls, and then be unable to make or receive calls for hours, sometimes days. I got no email, no IM, nothing...(obviously because if there is a voice issue, there is most of the time going to be a data issue as well). So, my rep ended up telling me that for now, they are going to switch me back to another curve with a 2g card instead of the 3g that I am running now, since the Bold's will only run on 3g and the curves can run on either system. If any of you are experiencing dropped calls in the Northeast region of the US, and you are an AT&T customer, this might be your issue. Call at&t and see if they would be willing to send you out a 2G card for your phone and that should allow you to use your BlackBerry as usual until they have gotten the 3G issue resolved. I hope this helps anyone who was as frustrated as I was over the last month.
