The Rogers Enterprise Service Centre has been advised of the following Unplanned outage
Notification Type: Unplanned (Restore)
Service Affected: GPRS/EDGE/HSPA
Area Affected: National
Start Date: Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Start Time: 11:39 AM (EDT)
End Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2009
End Time: 12:28 AM (EDT)
Estimated Service Impact: 11 hours 11 mins
Work Summary: Some wireless data users had experienced packet latency, or may be unable to connect.
Additional Comments/Update: SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED
The root cause of the latency has been determined to be a fibre cut on the Rogers Wireless Data backbone. Traffic had been re-routed where possible to alleviate congestion and latency. All data packets are passing through the rings with success.
