The Rogers Enterprise Service Centre has been advised of the following Unplanned outage:

Notification Type: Unplanned (New)

Service Affected: GPRS/EDGE/HSPA

Area Affected: National

Start Date: Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Start Time: 11:39 AM (EDT)
End Date: No ETTR available at this time
End Time: No ETTR available at this time

Work Summary: Some wireless data users may experience packet latency, or may be unable to connect.

Update:

The Rogers Enterprise Service Centre has been advised of the following Unplanned outage

Service Affected: GPRS/EDGE/HSPA

Area Affected: National

Start Date: Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Start Time: 11:39 AM (EDT)
End Date: No ETTR available at this time
End Time: No ETTR available at this time

Work Summary: Some wireless data users may experience packet latency, or may be unable to connect.

Additional Comments/Update: The root cause of the latency has been determined to be a fibre cut on the Rogers Wireless Data backbone. The expected time to fix the fibre cut is 9:00 PM EDT. Traffic has been re-routed where possible to alleviate congestion and latency.

End Time: 12:28 AM (EDT)
Estimated Service Impact: 11 hours 11 mins

Work Summary: Some wireless data users had experienced packet latency, or may be unable to connect.

Additional Comments/Update: SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED
The root cause of the latency has been determined to be a fibre cut on the Rogers Wireless Data backbone. Traffic had been re-routed where possible to alleviate congestion and latency. All data packets are passing through the rings with success.

I don't think this issue is over. I'm still experiencing GSM only.
