From what I've read on other forums, there is a RIM confirmed BIS outage affecting many.

Wexxx8217;re getting reports from all over the country that RIMxxx8217;s BIS service is down right now. At this time we have no ETA on when this will be back up again.

I'm currently not receiving Gmail email on my BB. However, I can receive BBM messages and @sprint.blackberry.com emails. I'm on Sprint BIS.

ATT BIS down also in Birmingham.
Appears down since about 2:00 AM Central time

No BIS in Montgomery County/MD - DC area...web is working.
Not a good sign, considering RIM is announcing earnings sometime today...bad timing.
