Default Soon to be BB User-Help Please! - 11-11-2007, 02:26 PM

Hey! I am Tosin! I am from Los Angeles, California.
Like the title says, I don't have a Blackberry yet. I am going to buy one this Black Friday though. However, I need help choosing which one would work for me. I have AT&T and would like a phone that I can view and edit word documents on. I want to be able to edit them and transfer them back to my computer. I am going to go post a question in the help section. Could you all do me a favor and help a sister out and give me tips on which BB to get. Thanks!

Welcome to the group, Tosin!

You'll need aftermarket software to edit word documents. You can view them when emailed to you as an attachment, however, but I have to say I've never tried with a large, complex file.

EDIT: Large and complex is relative. You won't do much with anything beyond a letter or small report with any mobile device, I'm betting.

I dont know about complex, but some of the documents might be long.

You mean I have to buy word onto my hone? It doesn't come with it?

And can I only email the document? I can't send it straight from my phone?

You'll have to search unless someone else responds with details. Look in the aftermarket forum.

I don't believe you can transfer files via bluetooth.

By complex I mean tables and illustrations. When I view a word doc attachment, it isn't in print view; it is translated by the RIM server; I see the content but not much of the format.

Again, look in the aftermarket forum for the applications that could help you, and see if you can find some examples.
