Default Blackberry messenger help required - 11-11-2007, 11:50 PM

I'm using a Blackberry Pearl (8100) bought from T mobile, in India. The carrier here is Vodaphone. My Phone came wihout blackberry messenger on it. I tried installing it (through blackberry help) but it says that my phone does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support blackberry messenger.

My software version is 4.2 & i have a 2gb card in the phone.

Please help....

You won't be able to install BlackBerry Messenger over the air for 4.2 OS versions. You will need to install the Desktop Manager (and I believe the Handheld OS installation file) to install the BlackBerry Messenger.

And make sure you install the BlackBerry OS install file to your computer as noted by the thread referenced by John.

Hi guys,

I followed the instructions to the T... but when i reloaded the device software on the phone... it had a list of the stuff already on the phone.....did not give me any options to add stuff to it...... so I could not tick the BBmessenger option....

As a result... still dont have BB messenger.... any other suggestions???

In that list of "stuff already on the phone" there should be a checkbox for Blackberry Messenger. Just check the box and finish the application loader all the way to the end..
