Default Programming on Blackberrys - 11-14-2007, 07:38 AM

Hi all - i'm a college student in Ireland. We have a project that involves using a GPS equiped bb to provide directions to a location and dispaying the route

Does anybody have any tips as to where to ask questions in regard to how to program(in java) this(or indeed have any tips themselves)?

I suppose the biggest issues would be client server connection(sockets, rmi etc), how to use the the gps in our app and which mapping service to use (bb maps or google maps)

Any help would be much appreciated - thanks in advance

Alex

Welcome to the group! Someone will come along and help, alzzz. In the meantime, have you noted the developer subforum here at blackberryforums?

Thanks - i did browse the first 3 pages but didnt see too much that fitted with what we need - i did see a guestion about sockets tho - is this a good way of implementing a client server model?

Is the BES a necesity as 100€ per license is alot if it can be done without!

cheers
Alex
