Hi! Im Trista, 22, Canadian and the proud new owner of a Blackberry Pearl!

Does anyone know how to setup the email with the blackberry pearl? It tells me I can enter a personal email but when I do it says that an error occured during email account validation. Im trying to use a hotmail account, does that make a difference? as well, with the facebook application, am I supposed to recieve notifications and messages, etc...on the application or only on the mobile facebook page?

Welcome to the forum, Trista.

I believe Hotmail can be a bit tricky. Depending on how long you've had your account, you may need to upgrade it to Hotmail Plus in oder to get it to work with the BlackBerry. Microsoft "changed the rules" a while ago and it make things difficult for BlackBerry users.

With Facebook, I believe you can get started here:

Browse to that address with your BlackBerry browser.

Yes, definitely. Yahoo is a snap!
You'll also get more features with a Yahoo email address, such as instant push mail delivery, and two way message reconciliation including read/unread marks.

I'd go with Yahoo or GMail over Hotmail any day.

awesomesauce. I got it working with a yahoo email address, do the text messages I get from that cost me anything?

Email through Yahoo doesn't use any text messages. It's all counted as data.
