I'm a new user here - a recent Blackberry convert from years of using Palm/Pocket PC products!

I've had a PDA since midway through college (1999), and more recently, have needed one my work as a physician. But the only apps that are crucial to me are Epocrates (which is now available for Blackberry) and a couple other minor apps, in addition to the built-in browser, calendar, to-do list, etc.

After 2 1/2 years dealing with countless frustrations, I finally decided to give up my Treo. It worked great as a phone-PDA combo for a while, but eventually the lack of memory, frequent crashing, outdated OS and slow Internet (plus difficulty in checking basic email!) got to me.

After a couple of my friends switched over, I got a chance to really test out and use both the Curve and Pearl for a while, and realized I was a convert!

So here's my (long) trip towards finally getting a Blackberry:

Palm Vx --> Sony Clie PEG-NR70V --> Toshiba e750 --> Treo 650 --> Blackberry Curve 8320!

So while I await the arrival of my device in the mail, I'm going to browse these excellent forums and look for must-have apps, the best case, recommended hacks/tweaks, etc.

I've had a BB for work for about 2 years. My "New Every 2" with Verizon came up a few days ago so I decided to splurge and get a BB for myself. I bought the 8830 World Addition. I was thinking about getting a Pearl but I wasn't crazy about the keyboard.

So far I absolutely love my BB. The one that I have from work has minimal apps so I never really realized the power they have.
