Question TM 8800 AT & T Singular

Hi, I am new to the forum as well as BB, just got an unlock 8800 as a gift, insert a At&T Rogers simcard from another BB in Canada, no network found during the searching, I am now in Europe inserted a prepaid sim card from Sonofon dk Again no network found during the search.Could it be defective ?
Any suggestion?

If it is unlocked it should work. Could be defective.

But there are a couple settings to check as well.

Does it say sim card rejected at all?

No it does not say Sim card rejected,What settings could be check?
