So, after chucking my RAZR across the street Friday night (or at least wanting to - but I needed the SIM card), I went to the AT&T store and bought a BB 8310. So far I love it! Surfing can be a tad tedious, but is passable, but the email access, texting, full QWERTY keyboard, gorgeous screen and just plain GREAT phone functionality are really fun!

So far I installed Opera Mini 4, Google Mobile Updates (and a few of its apps), as well as the bPhone theme (which drove my friend Walt nuts - he kept trying to tap the icons with his finger, lol)

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself!

Welcome indeed!

No doubt Sith browsing should be a breeze compared to the razr

Yeah, you guys are right - compared to the razr, surfing is a breeze - I'm just used to surfing via friends' iPhones and my PC. It's getting better, the more I use (and customize) the settings that are available. Right now the biggest problem for me is the email - it shows text only, not HTML email. (from my gmail and yahoo email accounts) Oh well.

Well the blackberry natively only supports text email. Empower Your BlackBerry is one of the best solutions for the HTML style email. Rumor is new upgrades to the software on the device + BIS/BES side will allow HTML email. As to the web browsing, i can view full HTML pages with SSL with no problem. THe blackberry does not do Flash at all.

No flash, eh? Darn ... that sucks. Any word on when that might be coming out? I know the iPhone doesn't support flash either :D They [apple] got YouTube to convert their movies away from Flash and onto H.264 (one of apple's favorite codecs for the iPhone/iPod)

well mobile youtube (m.youtube.com) is supported on the 8130s as streaming video support is a feature of OS 4.3 and higher. As for flash, quite some time ago there was an announcement that RIM and Adobe were "working on it" but thats the last information i had seen
