Question Upgrading to 1st Blackberry Need Help - 02-13-2008, 05:09 PM

Hi All,
I'm new to these forums and wanted to say to Hi to everyone. I'm sure I'll be using these forums alot in the coming weeks. Everyone seems to be getting alot of help from the community. That's great!

I'm going to be upgrading my cellphone next week and I'm looking into a Blackberry Pearl or Curve. I've been reading on the message bds and these 2 keep coming to the top all the time. Do you have any recommendations? Should I'm trying to stop carrying a PDA & cell. Friends have suggested I look to a BB. Unfortunately I have Verizon so I'm limited in choice. We have had good luck with Verizon in the past and are going to stay with them. Especially since I have a store Mgr as a friend. I've heard the Curve is supposed to be coming soon to Verizon. Is this true? Has anyone recently upgraded from a Cellphone to a BB like I'm doing? How easy or hard was it to make the change?

Any help would be appreciated!

welcome to the BBF, omiskmo.
I upgraded initially from a cell phone and palm. You will love having the BB as both.

Look over in the Rumor Mills sections for some info on the Curve to VZW. I am betting it might be within the next 60 days.

Welcome to the group, omiskmo!

My advice on your last question is don't try to fit the blackberry to the way you are used to doing things with your current pda. Instead, play with the blackberry and drill down in all the menus and iptions, and adapt your behavior to the blackberry's functions, and the change will be easy.
