welcome to the forums. the issue with Berricons is only people with that software installed will see the icons properly. (at least that is my understanding of the software)

Berricons show emoticons when you are typing a message by selecting them from a menu. However, the icons do NOT show up in the message only the typed TEXT equivalent. It just saves you the time it takes to type it yourself and also helps when you do not remember how to type a particular emotion using text. They DO show up in the receivers message as text, again NOT as icons!

Welcome, and I have looked into this to a great deal and I can tell you that there is NO application out there that can do that. Would be nice for someone to create that but I can't since I have no Java or any programming experience. The only program that does allow the emotions is the Blackberry Messenger but that doesn't help if you are talking to a person that doesn't have a BB and even if they have a BB if they don't have a data plan
