Default New BB owner with a Hello and a question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to the blackberry device. I have the 8320 curve with T-mobile service. I truly like the device but have a concern I was hoping to get some answers on.

The keyboard feels “cheap” for lack of a better word. Has anyone had a problem with it? Does it hold up well?

I am not sure why I have waited so long to use a blackberry; it is a great device and seems to fit my needs nicely.

Another question, Can I delete any IM applications, I will not use? IE: yahoo messenger, windows live messenger, ECT……. I would think that I could but thought I would ask before I deleted them.

You all have a great forum here and I am glad I found it. It has provided me with a wealth of knowledge already. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums!

Keyboard has never been an issue for me at all - also you should be able to delete the applications from the applications list - options > advanced options > applications.

Hope this helps.

welcome to the forums. i have also never had an issue with the keyboard itself. does it feel like the keys will come off, or just that it will break?

Welcome to the group, KoJak. I haven't used newer models, but blackberrys have been very durable devices in my experience.

Thanks for the fast replies.

Sith_Apprentice: No it does not feel like they will come off but rather just stop "clicking" and by that I mean working. it seems (at least on my unit) that some keys have a "solid" click and some have a "weak" click. haha I know you may be thinking "what is this guy talking about".

It is hard to explain, the Q and A keys dont have the same tactical feel and response to them as the rest of the keys. I am sure it is nothing to worry about I was just courious if there were a known issue with the keyboard.

Again, overall it is a great device and I kick myself for waiting so long to give it a try.

Also, thanks for letting me about deleting the IM apps.

Great forum, Thanks

On mine as well the extreme left side keys felt a little light when pressing, though they work just fine. it took some time before they felt like the others but i have had zero issues with them now.

John, I have been reading and re-reading that post for a couple days, haha I am sure that one day here before to long, I will have enough confidence to attempt it. I really do want to get rid of the preinstalled themes and all the other stuff I dont need.
Thanks

the way that the keyboard felt (i didn't like it either) was the thing that stopped me from getting the curve and made me get the pearl
