Hello everyone. this is just to say that I just got my first BB, its the pearl and well I think I will be needing help pretty soon. Actually i got one question already. So me and my girlfriend got a pearl but she is going to the phillipines for vacation for a couple of weeks. Were with Rogers and I just want to know if there is a way to avoid roaming charges. like unlocking the phone, or doing something. what are my options for us not to spend so much money and keep in contact.

Welcome to the forums.

With Rogers, I think the only way you can avoid raoming charges (at least data roaming) is to turn off the data. To do that, click on the Manage Connections icon, then Mobile Network Options, then set Data Services to Off.
