Default Former Q owner - email differences - 02-28-2008, 09:48 AM

Hello all, I've had the Motorola Q for awhile and just got the Pearl (Verizon). I must say it's a great little phone, tons of features built in that I had to purchase for the Q. Anyways, the only bump for me is getting used to the differences in email.

I use IMAP and on the Q I was able to see my entire folder structure so I could read/forward older emails. On the Blackberry it only receives new email (I'm using BIS). I know I can sign up for a hosted BES if I want but I'm not sure if I need it.

Are there any former Q users on here? How long did it take you to get used to not being able to see all your folders? Mostly a mindset situation I guess.

Thanks..

Steve

Greetings, Sutibu, and welcome to the BBF. Never used a Q here.

I think some of this should be available when BB Unite comes out.

Welcome to the group, Sutibu.

Never used the Q. My first pda devices were various versions of WinCE/PPC which I used to access email with a dial-up modem. Then I switched directly to the blackberry without using any other smart phones. My mindset when I started on the blackberry was, It Is What It Is, and I adapted.

Good luck!
