Default Hello everyone - 02-28-2008, 10:40 PM

Hi guys,

my name is gil, and i just recently bought a 8700c off ebay.

i'm still trying to figure eveything out, so i'll be asking lots of questions.

the main reason i bought a blackberry is to consolidate my 3 diff addr books and negate the need to carry a PDA (synch with outlook). i don't use data services and do not synch emails.

see you around.

i've looked at that a few times over the past few days while waiting for my BB to arrive, but i don't seem to be able to find what i need. i have to say that i do this mostly at work, and i'm constantly interrupted.

here are the issues i'm trying to tackle in order of importance.
1. i cannot send SMSs. i receive just fine, but there is no option in the menu to compose one. (remedied thanks to NJBlackBerry)

2. i need to disable the password lockout. (remedied thanks to NJBlackBerry)

Password: (a little red lock symbol here) Enabled

Services: *** no services ***

3. my desktop manager and redirector cannot seem to understand that i do not use email at all on this device and keep telling me that things aren't properly set up.

oh yeah. i've done everything in the first post of this thread.

alright guys. time for bed. catch you tomorrow!

A pin # is specific to each BB and is used for pin messaging for the BB Messenger. You can find yours at Options-status...

Welcome to the group, gil!

Did you get all your questions above answered? Looks like it, except maybe #3. Sounds like you selected redirector when you isntalled Desktop Manager and need to uninstall and reinstall, selecting blackberry internet email when you do.
