Default Sim Card contacts - 04-30-2008, 11:29 PM

Hi, I'm new to this site and need some help!!

I just "upgraded" from my Cingular Pearl to a Verizon 8830. However my old sim card with 200 contacts on it won't work in or even be "seen" by the 8830. Is there a way to get the contacts to the 8830 without manually typing them in? I have the BB PC software loaded but I can't find the sim card on the 'explorer' view.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the BBForums!

If you have both devices, run Desktop Manager > Switch Device Wizard and it will move all your Address Book, etc., from the old to the new. If you still have contacts on the SIM, insert it in the old, and move them to the Address Book on the old..., then proceed with the Switch Device Wiz.

You'll be able to use the switch device wizard to get your contacts, or you could use backup and restore. The contacts will save to the SIM, but you have to save them one at a time. Here is a KB article from BlackBerry Technical Solution Center that will help you with the contacts. Try this article KB04205
