Default Hi - 05-07-2008, 08:54 AM

Hey there. I'm in the market for my first Blackberry and I'm kind of excited to get my hands on one. I'm currently on the Verizon network with my cell so that is what I was looking to go with for my Blackberry.

I am considering the Pearl. I'm just curious about how the plans work. I was going to go with Verizon's $99 plan which includes 450 minutes and Unlimited text, picture, video and instant messaging.

What I was wondering was how the data and email works? Does that come out of my 450 minutes? Also as far as instant messaging, I know it says unlimited. Does this mean there is no usage of the minutes?

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone wants to offer their pros or cons of the Pearl, I'd love to hear.

Thanks in advance.

Firstly, welcome to the Forums, havok j! I hope you enjoy your stay.

The Pearl is an excellent device. Others here will soon speak/type for the Pearl's behalf.

Welcome to the forums!

The text messaging should take away from your minutes. Your 450 is for talk time. I'm assuming you'll also have free nights and weekends too right?

Thats where I'm confused. It does say unlimited text and instant messaging. I know how texting works but I was curious about the IM'ing. Whether or not this was considered a data charge or if it used up the minutes for talk time.
As far as the email goes, there is nothing included in the $99? I would need to pay an additional $30?

Sorry. I should have read my own post first. What I meant to say was that text should not take away from minutes. my bad!
