Open camera, hit menu key and select options and set store pictures on to media card.
When saving pics from elsewhere, say an email a box comes up asking you where you want to save highlight the box with a file in it hit trackball and select where the file you want to save pictures to.
Go to media hit menu key and select explore, highlight pic you want to move hit menu key and select move, a box comes up, select up and search for media card pictures folder then hit menu key or trackball and select move here.
Btw go to options > advanced options > media card and turn all options to on or yes except for encryption. This enables you to see media card from desktop manager and you could move your pics via this if you wish. Or simply use the card as a removeable drive.
