Heeeeeeeey, from the South. I'm a total BB noob and have never had a QWERTY keypad on a cell before. Thought that the Bold 1 would be a good place to learn to thumb type. T9 had run its course with me.

Bought a used Bold 9000, and while waiting for it to arrive I have been reading numerous Stickies and Threads in this forum relating to cleaning up memory and updating OS. Would appreciate any links to any threads that may help in my introduction to the device (already have, and have read the Users Manual), operation of the device, tweaking the device and just about anything that you consider pivotal. I do know how to use the Search function, but am limited in knowing what to search for.

By the way, what is the general feeling about the current OS?

Did not buy through AT&T store because I don't currently want the data plan. Intend to use it for all non-data plan stuff. Would really like to know if there is a way to download and use mapping data. I understand that without the data plan I would not be able to use any GPS functionality. Having the maps would, however be useful if they could be accessed.

Thanks in advance and I really like the site.
