Hi from the UK
 

I've been a Windows Mobile user with iPAQ, an Iphone user and an Android user, and now considering picking up a cheap 2nd hand Blackberry to see what it is all about!

Looking for any advice on a cheap 2nd hand model to dip my toe into the water!

Get any GSM BB with trackpad and not the track ball on it and you will be happy instead of getting a bb with a track ball. because track ball is the old thing and since you are coming from those "smarty" devices you may not like the rolling of the tracking ball. check on 8520, 9700, 9780 are some with optical trackpad

cheers, had a quick look on ebay,

8520s £88 BIN
9700s over £150ish

So is an 8520 going to be able to run most 'modern' apps?

Before you buy any used BB, make sure that you read and understand what we have to say in our FAQ. Buying a used BB isn't as easy as buying any other used cell device.
