Hello,

Just registered to the site yesterday, I don't own a Blackberry yet, just doing some research. I currently have Verizon Wireless as my carrier, I still have about a year left with them, then afterwards i'm thinking about switching to T-Mobile as they have better looking phones (8700g looks sweet), although i'm not sure about the service. I'll maybe even look into Cingular as well. But given that I have a year till I want to switch, there will most likely be new Blackberry devices out... so i'm just taking it slow right now.

I currently reside in Colorado, living with two roommates, working and going to college.

I'm basically here just looking to find some info on Blackberrys in general.

Such as, what was that big deal when Blackberry was in the news for a couple of months?

Do Blackberry phones have nice bell ringtones? I'm not into the whole musical .mp3 ringtones, just regular beep ringtones. I have a MIDI creator on my Mac, does it accept MIDI rings?

Finally, I noticed that they have alarms on the phones as well, is it possible to change the alarm to a certain ring, like a MIDI ring i've created?

I know, odd questions - but any info would be appreciated.

Well, I guess that's it for now, nice to be here.

Later.

There was a patent lawsuit between RIM and NTP but that was settled. You can pick your own ringtones. I'm not sure which format ringtones it supports. I don't know if you can change the alarm sounds.

Verizon covage is good in most of Colorado. I live in the co mtn's and had verizon for years and never had bad signals.
But Verizon is slow with releasing blackberry's. I run the 7130 and love it.
If you look at the ringtone section you should find the info you need & use the search buttion....
There are a few people here that real know everthing about blackberrys...

All things are possible, except for skiing through a revolving door...
