Welcome matey!! Have a good hunt around the forum, you'll find plenty of funky stuff to jazz up your new BB, not to mention the technical knowledge of the community is the best I've seen on the net!!!

Welcome aboard, I have had my BB 7520 for about a year and it is my entire office in a hoster. I am in residental construction and having the ability to have 500+ contractors at the push of a bottom is priceless.

Go into "Profiles" and you can control what the BB does (when it receives a message, call, calendar event, etc.)
