Hi, I just joined after a month with my new Blackberry 7100G, which was a "gift" from my office so they can keep track of me every second of the day. I run our intranet website for a large division of our business and one just never knows when something will crash and I have to summon the appropriate folks to get stuff working again.

I bought the Blackberry for Dummies book and have learned lots, however I just discovered something I can't quite figure out.

I'm trying to access a website which requires a password. (Hope I can explain this properly...) When I typed the password (or try to anyway), let's say my password is viknf

So when I press the CV key, a C is displayed in the password field, which immediately vanishes as the * conceals it. However, I don't want the C, I need the V. Get my drift? I hit the DEL< key which in any other application works fine, but the C continues to display, rather than the V. It's like it won't recognize the second letter/option available on each key - I can only get the first letter on a particular key to show up.

What am I doing wrong, and nice to "meet" each of you! I look forward to learning lots here, and hopefully being able to give something back one day.

On a 7100 series BB, you need to press the key twice to get the correct letter. That means if you want the V, you have to press the CV key two times. This is called MultiTap. I hate it too LOL I wish SureType worked for passwords.

Ack! How embarassing. I figured it out before I got back on and read the responses, so just to confirm, you guys were right! ;)

Thanks much, and I'm enjoying lurking.
