Default Hi from the UK - 05-18-2006, 05:37 AM

Hi all, just got a 7100x and just looking at my options for email. We use Exchange 2003 for email, Looked at BES but a bit expensive as we are only a small company.

Any recommendations would be appreciated

BES is very good but you can use your home email and pop3 email on a BB (blackberry)

Hi and welcome

<How do you configure it. I have looked in the message services and it is blank??>

Who is your mobile phone provider? Unless you're on a BES you need to contact them, buy a data plan and then all will be set up for you - they should talk you through the process which is very easy.

Hi and Thanks for getting back to me so quick...

I'm with O2 UK, I used to be on a payg (Pay as you go) account. I have spoke to them and they are updating my account to a contract account with data. Will the message services just appear on the phone so I can configure it.

I was wondering. in the message services on the 7100x it is blank there is nothing for me to edit...

I have spoke to O2 and the transfer on their system is still going through. When this is complete will the settings arrear in the message services part for me to configure email?

Yes the services should just 'appear', I think. I'd give them a call when they have appeared to get your blackberry email address and the URL for their bb site which is where you should be able to log in from your PC and set up all your email details. Or phone O2 up, play dumb and they will do it for you.

Thanks again!!

We use an Exchange 2003 server (Only 2 of us) and one BlackBerry, Saw the BES Express version with 1 Cal for free. Is it worth it? or can I configure the BB another way to pick up my exchange emails?

Now I'm beyond my (very small) area of competence!!! I think you need to do a search on the forums. I htink that you can use a redirector but I'm not at all sure...there is a thread which explains this somewhere.

Guys you've got like four topics in one thread, and the thread is unrelated to any of the topics aside from the first post!!! Technical stuff in the relevent sections please...it keeps everything tidy and makes searches more accurate!
