Question Informal Research Project:Blackberry/Related Cancer Dangers?

Please Login to Remove!

I have spent the past several days doing net searches attempting to review any (if any) definitive scientific studies relating to the potential for Black Berry influence on developing cancer. There is quite a bit of "research" that tends to be somewhat dated and ,generally speaking, more related to older and much more powerful rf factors equipment. Thus far I have not been able to identify any well designed and carefully studied recent work. Help! Does any one know of on going research or recent studies that have given results one way or another?

This matter is rather personal. About a year ago I began using my Rogers' Black Berry (Canada)-about two three times daily-and within three months had developed two sites of squamous cell skin cancer, both within the "footprint" of the Blackberry (right high cheek bone). My research at that point indicated little connection between cell phones and cancer. I continued to use the Blackberry, though with some trepidation and holding it away from the ear as much as possible. Now slightly over a year later, I have developed nine SCSC and related actinic keratoses. There may have been other reasons (unknown)but these are new developments and all are in the "footprint" of the Black Berry; three sites on the right ear and six on the cheek bone. The device is being turned off and put in storage until, and only if, I am able to obtain any data pertinent to this research that indicates the device is safe to use. Any help would be appreciated. Dr. Hayes,

Your concerns are very valid and as always (to anyone who values their health), a concern. Unfortunately, aside from conducting your own investigations, you may have difficulty drawing accurate conclusions. Even if that is the case, these results may only depict your reactions to the berry.

I am sure that you are also aware that you are exposed to different objects and circumstances that can increase your chances of cancer. I find it interesting though, that all of the locations where you determined cancer cells were present, were in the general vacinity of the blackberry's footprint.

However, I wonder why no others have reported these issues. Maybe a little more digging and investigation with the blackberry could provide some important insight. I would consider conducting the experiment correctly with controls and an account of any variables that you might incurr.

Best of luck,
