Hello all;

I am expecting my Blackberry 7250 to arrive in the next day or so and know I will have a ton of questions but for now the main thing I need to know is what is the deal with the networking? I tried to download some software for my laptop which I thought would be to comunicate with the 7250 but they asked a question about what network I was useing??? What's up with this? Also when I tried to install it said I was missing some file from my windows program?

I am assuming your are talking about downloading and installing the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. The options you have when installing are BES/Redirector or Internet. You choice depends on how your going to be getting your email.

Is your BlackBerry going to be connecting to a BES server? This is something your employeer would have that allows you to sync your corporate email/calendar/etc to your BlackBerry.

If your not connecting to a BES server you can use your carriers BIS website to configure IMAP and POP email accounts. You don't really need the Desktop Manager for this option unless you want to sync your address book or calendar with Outlook (or similiar),

Ok, since I am not using the email through any company I would use verizon to get my email like I do with my Motorola V710? That is the phone I will be replacing and I didn't have to do anything to get my emails.

I feel like an idiot for now until I get into the system a bit.

Use the Setup internet Email icon on your BlackBerry to configure the email addresses you want to receive. Very simple to do, should only take a few minutes.

Thanks for your help Doug, It should be hear Monday, just trying to make sure I am ready to get it up and going when it does. Any other hints? Like is there a can't do without item I will need. I mostly will be useing as a phone, check emails and web stuff. Address book/contact info, directions to buisnesses where I deliver.

I already have the THBBury Comfort Plus integraded car kit ans a heavy duty holster.

Right now I use my V710 to hook my laptop to the internet but I imagine with the 7250 I may not need to anymore.
