Default Moving from SK3 to 8700g

I used to think the Sidekick was the end all, be all of mobile web/email. I have been a Sidekick user since the black & white version and have had every one since.

IMO the Sk2 was the best of them all. The b&w and original color unit was riddled with bugs. The SK2 was a HUGE step up (except for the crappy glued on keypad).

I did upgrade to the SK3 but now I really wished I'd weighed my options before jumping into this thing. Personally I think its almost a sidestep. Sure it has an mp3 player (that I've used maybe 2 times) and a 1.3mp camera (that is really no better than the SK2 camera) but that's about it. The reception seems noticeably worse. I've had a lot of service issues since I've had the SK3.

So I was in a Tmo store the other day and was looking around and tried out the 8700g. The browser totally blows the SK3 out of the water. Easily twice as fast on a number of sites that I tried side-by-side. I thought this was curious since both use Edge.

I don't im very much, I never txt message, but I do a ton of surfing on my SK3 at work and a moderate amount of email. Tmail has totally sucked in the last few weeks. Serious lag nearly every day. But the faster web was the kicker.

I totally hated that the SK OS was locked down and the only apps you could use were from the catalog.

So I bought an 8700g off ebay yesterday. I could have gotten it though Tmo but with yet another 2yr extension and for $100 more than I paid on ebay. Now I'm getting kinda nervous about it because the SK is the only thing I've known for the past 4yrs.

All the Sidekick fanboys go on and on how clumsy getting around on a BB is and how great the multitasking is on the SK. Is it really that hard to jump from app to app on the BB?

I'm hoping for a smooth transition. From the little bit that I used it at the Tmo store it seemed very nice. Typing will take some getting used to but I'm sure will be 2nd nature in no time.

Also, anyone used an MDA at all? I was really interested in that since it was touch screen and had wifi, but I'd heard the browser speed was on par with the SK3, no thanks.
