Can anybody help a new user please.
I have managed to lose my options icon (a spanner) off the screen and I cannot get any audable alert when I get an e-mail on my PC even though all alert status are activated and on.

It's most likely hidden. Hold the shift key & push the trackwheel. It agild show you the options hide applications, move applications, & show all. Cluck on show all & see if that helps.
