Great forum, learnt loads today! My Pin is 201EB7E6 - not sure what this means.
Purchased a 7100v from ebay - no instructions. The handset was a VF Australia handset and was previously used by a BES user.
The handset is unlocked, I am using an Optus Sim, have wiped the handset and removed the IT Policy (great thread on forum). I have set up an account on the Optus Blackberry Internet Service on web. Only problem is I have are:-
i. Data Connection refused msg - have contacted Optus and they will add Blackberry plan on Monday when Business call centre opens (why dont they operate over weekends?). This should get rid of this error msg.
ii. Lack of email setting or browser options on handset. Will they appear once data connection is sorted (as above in i.)
iii. I have no service books or Host Routing Table, etc. Will (i.) sort this?
iv. When I set up the BIS service on web I entered my IMEI including the . (full stop) eg 22222.33.34455 is this correct or should I remove the .(full stops)? I have tried this and an error msg appears: The information you have provided is not valid for this service provider. Is this because the handset has been previously used by the guy I bought the handset from on ebay (it is a vodafone branded handset that I am using with Optus). Do Optus not recognise the IMEI?
Not sure if I've wasted $$$ and this may be a hopeless cause. I am an email addict and this is very frustrating, your guidance and help is appreciated.
