Default New here, hello everyone!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I am new in this forum and new to the BB world.
Mine was given to me by a friend, a 7520 from NEXTEL.
Don't know where to post my question, so here it goes:
As I have said before it is BB 7520 from NEXTEL. I can see that is uses a SIM Card. We don't have NEXTEL service on my country. I do have a service plan with CINGULAR, so that means I have a SIM card from CINGULAR. Can I use this SIM Card with the 7520? I put it on the BB, it can read the phone number, but that is all I able to do. Can't make a call, can't receive a call and can't read my contacts from the SIM Card.

Any help would be most apreciated. Have search around the forum but haven't found anything yet.

Plaese give me some info.

Thank you all!

Anyone can even direct me to the right place in the forum?

Hi mkogy,

I don't think the SIM swap will work for you. Nextel uses iDen and is different from Cingular. You will need a Nextel SIM card and data plan thru them.

try this link for additional answers: Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ

I'm sure someone else will pop in and give additonal details that will better explain.

Welcome to the forums. As srl7741 said the SIM card swap won't work between Nextel and Cingular. iDen and GSM are complete different bands and are not swapable.

Sorry.
