Avatar uploading question

i have an avatar i would upload, but i am reasonably new here (only past several months) and, like the poster below, i don't see any place under CP for uploading an avatar. i have tried on two different laptops, one with both internet explorer and mozillar firefox, but i'm still not seeing a place to upload avatar. the poster below seemed to believe passing a 100 post milestone was important before uploading an avatar, but i didn't see anything like that when i looked in the site FAQs regarding avatars. any thoughts / suggestions appreciated. this is a great site, by the way. thx

PS, ON MY COMPANY MACHINE, I SAW SOMETHING ABOUT ADDITIONAL PLUGINS "REQUIRED TO DISPLAY ALL THE MEDIA ON THIS PAGE." i think tried to "Install Missing Plugins" but something about an Adobe Flash Player failed because of some licensing issue. wonder if that could be hangup for the uploading avatar issue

Have you replied to the confirmation e-mail that was sent out when you registered?

i don't recall specifically but i read emails pretty carefully and doubt i would have ignored any requested response. i will say i am signed up for email notifications of replies to the posts i've made, and i routinely receive such notifications. maybe that effectively answers?

Your account is in the "users awaiting email confirmation" status. You should have received a confirmation email. If you don't have the email go to the "contact us" link in the top right corner and select "not receiving confirmation emails."

i registered months ago and have received emails for months. tonight (by coincidence) i changed email address to a new one we got because of some issues with old address. i wonder if as a result of that an email went out tonight and somehow didn't get through. i'll go do what you suggest right after sending this as there may be a current email receipt issue, but i think the original avatar question remains unaffected. thx

ok, i went there, did that, got the email confirmation at new address (almost immediately), clicked on the link, and i think this issue is removed. (thx) now back to the "avatar upload / can't see" issue

Once you confirm the email address via the confirmation email sent to you, you will gain the ability to upload an avatar. I have looked at your account and it is still awaiting email confirmation. As I posted above, if you can't find the confirmation email use the "contact us" link.

well what do you know. i now see Edit Avatar on the left side down under CP. thx much. i'll see if i can figure it out now!

i'm sorry for the one-more-dumb-question but...

is there a way i can change "Knows Where the Search Button Is" to some other text? i looked at the choices under CP but didn't see how to do that! thx again
