Default New user .... well almost! - 05-30-2007, 11:35 AM

Hey all, my contract is up with Verizon in 1 week, and moving over for numerous reasons. I have a palm treo and looking to see which smartphone to use. My buddy picked up the Perl and loves it except one thing (which may be a post to the technical if no-one knows), but he said he can't set an audible reminder, is this true? He said the light will flash but that's it!

If it is the case, is there a firmware upgrade in the works, or some type of patch? Anyway, either way I will be a new BB user soon

:D

Greetings, xlancealotx, and welcome to the Forums.

Yes you can set an audible task reminder, calendar reminders, as well as an alarm. Is that what you are asking about?

Thanks for the replies, and Yes, that is what I was asking, but re-checked with a friend who does own the Perl and said you can't. The only reminder you can set with an alarm simply changes the blinking LED.

I did google around a bit and found no solid answer, but did see how the messaging filters can trigger different audible messages, so I think he may be delisional (sp?)

Lastly is the bluetooth GPS. I see how you can use a bluetooth GPS to get realtime traveling, but does anyone reccomend one. I can see on ebay (Holux M-1000 M1000 32 Channel Bluetooth GPS Receiver) for around $25/30, then a Parrot model for $100!

Anyway, I do have 4 day's left before I change over, then come the real questions! Thanks again
