I am new to the BB world! I just purchased a BB8830, love the phone, but I have a few questions! How can I download a ringtone from my personal cd collection, I have tried using the media manager and it didn't work! Also my BB8830 will not format my verizon micro sd! I think it may be a sd issue! Any suggestions?

Update: I don't know answer, but...check back in the 8800 forum, or search if you haven't done it already. I'm sure your not the first to run into these questions. (If I knew where to point you, I would.)

to get a ringtone out of your personal CD collection, you need to rip the CD to your computer, use Audacity or some software to edit it to about a 30 sec ringtone. Then transfer that ringtone to your Media Card.

You can try to fomat the SD card on your BB or the PC, if you have an adaptor. when you get it formatted, on the BB, enable mass storage on your Media Card (Options > Advanced > Media Card).

I'VE TRIED TO FORMAT THE SD CARD THAT WAY AND IT DIDN'T WORK. THE BB WOULD JUST SHUT DOWN AND START UP AGAIN, THEN SAY THAT THE MEMORY CARD IS NOT RECOGNIZED AND NEEDS TO BE REFORMATTED. I JUST FORMAT MY CARDS USING MY COMPUTER AND AN ADAPTOR! THANKS FOR THE RINGTONE INFO!
