Hi All---

Just joined the forum in hopes of getting an answer to a tough question. I just got my BlackBerry 8700 wet. It didn't work for a while but as it dried out, it does initialize but the backlight on the screen doesn't seem to be working....

Any suggestions? Is there a reset? Is the screen toast? Any advice is appreciated....

It sounds like you didn't perform the proper procedures after you got it wet initially, so I would say it is toast, and you will need to buy a new one.

It may be too late to save it. In the future always pull the battery immeadiately and place somewhere warm to dry for 3 to 5 days. You can still try by pulling the battery and placing on a cable box or stereo vent for a few days and see if you can revive it.
