i have a big question,i need to change my username.i bought my cell in a cingular store, and the clerk never told me that was previewsly own so the person that had my blackberry never closed her account, now i been receiving her e-mail. and i want to stop that. i call the cingular customer service and they always keep me for an hour to try an change the username but it never works.guy what can i do>>i need help
netplay, you need to call Cingular and explain to them that you bought the device new, and you need THEM to "release the PIN from the old previous user", to you. THEY should remove the old account, you cannot.
You can remove the old email service books at Options > Advanced > Service Books, and delete those service books with the @ symbol that are not yours. Then reboot the BB.
If Cingular does not release the PIN from the old user, you might have those old service books sent back to your BB.
If they give you hassle, simply return the phone to the store where you purchased it (assuming you were told it was NEW) and ask for a truly new device. You should not have any gruff unless it was marketed as refurbished, and even then CingularAT&T should remove the previous user info.
