hey all , is there a way to view pdf files or word documents that i have saved on my pc with my bb 7290?

Yep, with BeamBerry or Repligo, or eOffice.

Check the FAQ site, scroll down to Third Party Applications for downloads.
With any, you will need to email the documents to yourself.
